How Gary changes other people's lives

JULY is a hectic month for Gary Valenciano and we can’t help but wonder where he gets the energy. The shows lined up for Mr. Pure Energy are too exhausting to start with.

July 13 will see him perform at the CPU gymnasium in Iloilo City while on the 18th he will take the stage at the Macias Sports Complex in Dumaguete City . Capping his “Pure Inspiration” Philippine Tour of the South is a concert at the University of St. La Salle in Bacolod City on July 20. He will be joined by his band Powerplay and Gabriel Valenciano with special guests Jamie Rivera (in Iloilo ) and son Paolo (in Dumaguete and Bacolod ).

Gary‘s dance moves are described as more controlled as he gives way to his son Gabby the fast steps he used to display.

The venues mentioned are very meaningful to Gary . Bacolod for one is considered a second home to Gary since he was adopted as the son of the sugarcane city.

Just before his tour, Gary flew to Beijing last June 29 to be the major performer at the gala night of Hewlett Packard’s Asia-Pacific conference. It was a gathering led by the company’s CEOs from all over the world and was held at China World Hotel. The most applauded number of the evening was Gary’s international version of Freddie Aguilar’s Anak sung in Portuguese, Italian, English, Japanese and Tagalog.

A few days later, he received the De la Salle Alumni Association La Sallian Achievement award for 2007 for his success in the field of contemporary music. The awarding ceremony was held at the Marieken Gaerlan Conservatory, DLSU, Manila .

On July 14, he will be guesting at the concert of Sarah Geronimo at the Big Dome entitled “Sarah in Motion.”

“Pure Inspiration” tour flies to Taiwan on July 22 when Jesus Is Lord (JIL) celebrates its 13th anniversary at the National Taiwan University Coliseum.

Through the years, Gary has entertained and even changed the lives of some of his fans.

Here is one unsolicited testimonial from Criz Quinn of Franklin, Tennessee who, after seeing Gary for the first time confessed— “I went there hoping to have a little fun and take a break from my stressed life. (I have a daughter with autism). I was more than entertained. I was inspired. It is very ironic that I had not set foot in a church since my daughter was diagnosed because I was angry but my love for your music brought me back to a church ( Bethel World Outreach Center ) where you were performing and unknowingly found my love for God again.”
