Harry Potter” book spoiler alert if you do not want to know the possible ending of the final novel in the series. You may already have a copy of “Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows” since the book was scheduled to be sold beginning Saturday, July 21, but you may still want to be kept in suspense about which characters die.

We’ve read online the supposed leak by a computer hacker, who goes by the name Gabriel, about the ending of J. K. Rowling’s mega successful book series. Before we reveal what Gabriel claims to know, we are issuing one final spoiler alert warning. Stop reading now if you don’t want to know the ending, although not confirmed as true:

“Hagrid is killed by Professor Snape during an attempted ambush of Ron and Hermione. The latter two escape, but then encounter Voldemort who duels with Hermione. The latter is killed in order to protect Ron. Harry triumphs over his enemy but Hermione pays the ultimate price for it.”

We bring up the leak issue because when we interviewed Emma Watson, who plays Hermione, in London last June 22, she told us that two journalists who interviewed her earlier than us did inform her about Gabriel’s alleged knowledge of the book’s ending.

This was Emma’s reaction on the possibility that her Hermione might indeed be one of the two characters who will die, as we wrote in our column last June 30:

“‘Today, a couple of journalists told me that there’s this guy who claims to have been able to hack into J. K. Rowling’s computer,’ she shared. Putting her hands on her chest, she continued, ‘He’s saying that Hermione is going to die. I was like, ‘Oh God, that’s awful.’ I actually found myself feeling sad. I have not really contemplated on her dying. I always had the sense that she’d make it.’

“…The actress is emotionally attached to her character not only because she has been playing her all these years. ‘Hermione and I are very similar in quite a lot of ways,’ she explained. ‘We’re both very stubborn, determined, loyal, bossy, academic and a bit of a feminist.’”

As we write this, no one can confirm that what the hacker is saying about who dies in the book is true.
