The 12 Girls Band, China’s hottest musical act is coming to Manila! The hottest musical phenomenon from the People’s Republic of China will be bringing to Philippine shores the unique musicality that has made them the latest toast of the music world. The group will be performing in a rare one-night concert on Aug. 11 at the Philippine International Convention Center (PICC) Plenary Hall. Composed of 12 beautiful young women chosen from over 4,000 aspirants from all over China, The 12 Girls Band are graduates from elite and prestigious music academies and are also veterans of top orchestras in China.

The group has taken 1500 years of Chinese music tradition and gave it a more contemporary feel. By playing modern arrangements using traditional Chinese

instruments, the group has created a unique brand of musical style and sound that is distinctly all their own. Soaring album sales across Asia have propelled the group into the international limelight. Their debut album in Japan has remained at the top of that country’s chart for 30 weeks. They are the only Chinese act to top the Japanese music charts. And as proof of the 12 Girls Band’s immense popularity in Japan, their live concerts in 32 arenas were instantly sold out in 10 minutes. "Eastern Energy", the band’s US debut album was released on August 17, 2004, coinciding with their first ever U.S. Tour (from August 10 to September 4, 2004). On this promotional tour, the band performed in Los Angeles, Seattle, San Francisco, Minneapolis, Chicago, Atlanta and Honolulu. Their performances were well received by American audiences everywhere. Their EASTERN ENERGY album charted at #62 on the Billboard Top 200 chart during its first week of release, making the album the highest charting debut album by an Asian artist in the history of the Billboard top 200 chart. It also peaked at number 1 in the World Music chart and number 7 on the Internet Sales Chart.

Billed as "The Concerts for a Climate In Crisis", the tours this year for the group were top billed by a star studded line up which included The Police, John Mayer, Kanye West, Kelly Clarkson, Bon Jovi, Ludacris, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Madonna and the Black Eyed Peas among many others. The band also debuted their first network TV Special when PBS launched nationally "12 Girls Band Live from Shanghai" last June 1. They also released their new CD "Live from Shanghai" last June 5th. The Band will be capping off 2007 with a 40-city tour of North America in October with no less than the William Morris Agency booking the tour.
