Angel silent on damaging reports, plans to leave GMA-7

Angel Locsin remained silent on reports of her alleged swell-headedness and arrogance on the set of the just-concluded series, “Asian Treasures,” and her supposed plans to leave GMA-7.

During a victory party for the cast and crew of “Asian Treasures” on Thursday, Angel refused to comment on the reports.

Appearing gleeful and spirited in a video aired on GMA-7’s “24 Oras” newscast Friday, Angel only gave this remark to the press: “Masaya, masaya po ako.”

Judging from her amicable presence in the event at the 22nd Street Comedy Bar and how the “Asian Treasures” cast and crew warmly received their lead female star when she arrived around past midnight, there was no hint at all of the picture media reports made of Angel.

According to sources close to the star, Angel was not ready to divulge her career plans, except that she was ready to leave for London, England to pursue her fashion design course and take a few-months respite from her grueling yet successful showbiz career.

Rumors circulated that Angel was considering a non-exclusive deal with GMA-7, an arrangement that would technically allow her to appear in other television networks, including rival ABS-CBN. But an ABS-CBN source revealed the Kapamilya network “had not thought of that possibility (of Angel appearing on ABS-CBN shows).”

As for her alleged unpleasant attitude on the “Asian Treasures” set, a co-star and “look-a-like,” Glaiza de Castro, denied the accusations.

"Wala namang ganoong nangyayari eh at saka nagugulat kami kung saan nangagaling yun. Hindi gagawin ni Angel yun,” Glaiza said in a separate interview on the same newscast.
