Richard Gutierrez nervous while kissing Joyce Jimenez in "Lupin"

Kissing Joyce Jimenez on-screen was a surreal moment for young actor Richard Gutierrez.
"Passionate ‘yung kissing scene namin ni Joyce. May mga moment na nakakalimutan ko na nasa taping kami," he laughed in an interview with Abante Tonite columnist Allan Diones .

The kiss took place during a scene in Lupin where Joyce portrays an ex-flame of

Lupin who suddenly reappears into his life.
Despite being no stranger when it comes to kissing scenes, Richard admitted that he was quite nervous before and during the actual take.

"Kinabahan ako, kasi siyempre, growing up as a teenager, Joyce Jimenez ‘yun eh, di ba? Nung high school ako, siya ‘yung sexy star. Siya ‘yung Crush ng Bayan!

"Tapos, nandun kami sa moment na may kissing scene kami. Actually, kinabahan talaga ako. Sinabi ko sa kanya na kinakabahan ako," recalled Richard animatedly.

He also describes what made the kiss so different from those he did with co-stars Ehra Madrigal and Rhian Ramos.

"Nagkaroon na rin kami ng kissing scene ni Ehra [Madrigal] sa Lupin, pero sa eksena, siya ‘yung may gusto, ako, ayaw ko. So, medyo iba ‘yung atake. Nag-kiss na rin kami ni Rhian sa show pero very subtle. Iba ‘yung halik ko kay Joyce, mas mahaba at mas passionate. Kasi sa istorya, may past kami, e! Siya ‘yung first girlfriend ko. So, sabi ni Direk [Mike Tuviera], passionate dapat!"

COOLING DOWN. Richard was also asked by Diones if he's not afraid of feeling burned out by working so hard. The question was in relation to Angel Locsin's claim that all the hard work she rendered throughout the years finally caught up and was the main reason she decided to transfer to another network where her schedule is being considered.

"Alam mo, lahat ng artista, dumaraan diyan especially kung tuluy-tuloy ang trabaho mo sa TV," he reacted.

"Siyempre, puyat kayo gabi-gabi. Aside from TV, may movie ka pa, may commercial ka pa. Siyempre, nakakapagod talaga ‘yon physically. Normal na napapagod ang isang artista. That's why ako, ang ginagawa ko, every time na natatapos ang show ko, humihingi ako ng a few weeks off to unwind, to relax, to recharge."

According to Richard, a few weeks of rest enables him to regain both his energy and enthusiasm for work.

"Para pagbalik ko, ready ulit ako, excited ulit akong magtrabaho. Ganun ang ginagawa ko talaga."
