Wearing a white shirt that still has a trace of blood and with a split wound in his nose, Cabanlit says Alvarez boarded his taxi around 5 a.m., Tuesday morning at the Rembrant Hotel of Quezon City. He says Alvarez reeked of alcohol.

As they reached Boni Avenue at Mandaluyong, Alvarez regained consciousness and started cussing at him accusing him of purposely changing routes so he could take advantage of him as a passenger. Alvarez started to kick him and grip his neck since he rode at the back.

Cabanlit did his best to pry himself from Alvarez and ran away from the taxi. His face was full of blood but that didn't stop Alvarez from running after him.

His ordeal ended when the police arrived and picked up Alvarez.

Alvarez says he just got furious when Cabanlit asked for an excessive fare and it was the taxi driver who punched him first.

While inside the police precinct, Alvarez tried to dodge the media and locked himself inside a room. But he saw ex-Pinoy Big Brother house mate now female TV reporter Gretchen Malalad talking to the taxi driver. Alvarez started to hit her prompting her to fight back.

Malalad a black belter, managed to punch Alvarez' face but was still overpowered by the bigger and stronger basketball player who punched her several times and pulled her hair at one point.

Malalad says she used to idolize Alvarez who became famous at PBA and called "Mr. Excitement" for his extraordinary tall jumps and slam dunks. But because of the incident, she says she has lost her respect for the legendary basketball player.

Alvarez stayed inside the precinct for almost twelve hours but was later allowed to post bail amounting to P4,5oo. He's now facing the separate charges of Cabanlit and Malalad.

The incident shook the women community and unanimously condenmed Bong Alvarez for his actions.
