According to a Sun-Star report posted Friday night, Congressmen Dan Fernandez of Laguna and Magtanggol Gunigundo II of Valenzuela said they were dismayed overreports of alleged rigging in the program, which they believe should meet an end right away.

Fernandez, a former actor, said continuing with “Wowowee" would not erase public perception about the incident of alleged cheating in “Wilyonaryo," a new segment, during its August 20 episode, which the management of ABS-CBN Channel 2 said had encountered a technical glitch.

The Valenzuela lawmaker also underscored the need for ABS-CBN Channel 2 to promote programs that would teach people the value of hard work as a means of earning for their daily subsistence instead of giving them false hope through big prizes.

Congressman Gunigundo hit it right in the nail! I find Wowowee's format of exploting the poverty of Filipinos in front of the world, of mendicancy, of false hopes, etc. just for RATINGS. Shouldn't we be showing our bast face to the world? And not our worst, even if it is true?

hmmp tsk tsk..i pity these 2 congressmen instead of tackling a more serious issue they're joining in this super hype "pandaraya" thing which was nothing but just a technical glitch. i just wonder if they had really seen that particular episode or just relying on people's word of mouth who does not like the show or of willie particularly. if wowowee is a form of mendicacy then i could say the same to eat bulaga!!!
