Pinoy Big Brother: Welcome Back To The Outside World

Fresh from the successful Big Night at the Big Dome that marked the end of Pinoy Big Brother Season 2, the top five housemates sat down with the press for a light and truthful chat. The Big Winner, Beatriz Saw, was joined by Mickey Perz, Wendy Valdez, Gee-Ann Abrahan, and Bodie Cruz in sharing their wonderful experiences inside the ever famous big yellow house. This time around, they no longer answered to Kuya's voice, but to several reporters's queries. The only task was for them to survive the intrigues, and the mantra of "pagpapakatotoo" proved to be their only saving grace. No more confession room, as their every word was for everyone to hear.

Beatriz, or Mommy Bei to the housemates, received much congratulations from the press for her victory. The 21-year old Sassy Girl voiced out her sincerest thanks to all those who supported her all the way amidst a series of nominations. The "Chinitang Bicolana" said that she was uberly surprised upon discovering that she had a huge fanbase, not only those from Bicol, but also from Visayas, Mindanao, and Metro Manila. Bea could only make her indelible signature laugh when a reporter told her that some priests in Bicol, after holding their masses, would even invite the people to text "BB Beatriz."

When asked about her plans on her whopping prize, Bea said that aside from helping her family, she also intends to help all the Bicolanos who were affected by typhoon Milenyo of last year and the indigenous people in her town of Camarines Sur. However, Bea would still have to wait until all the prizes are given to her.

The 2nd Big Placer of this season, Mickey, had said before that if ever he becomes the Big Winner, he will use the prize to put up a dance school in the Philippines so he could share his talent to our "kababayan." Although landing only in second place, the hip-hop dancing king from Switzerland said that he is nevertheless thankful just for making it to the finals. The 23-year old Fil-Austrian was also happy for Bea's victory because indeed, according to Mickey, everybody was deserving in their own respect to win. Mickey also thanked everyone who put their load for him and trusted him despite his European upbringing and sometimes crooked Tagalog.

This only male housemate in the Big Four was, however, unable to escape the pressing queries from the GeeMick fans among the invited press. Now that Gee-Ann had admitted her special liking for Bodie, does this mean that Mickey has been cut off the "triangle." But Mickey said that he rather continue his friendship with the Cheering Chick, and to wherever things may lead, we can only guess.

For the much-talked about "triangle" inside the Big Brother house, Gee-Ann was teased by the press for her "mahabang buhok" to be adored by two fine young gentlemen. But Gee-Ann had already spilled the beans that she feels closer to Bodie given their several similarities as persons. Apparently, the mother of our 4th Big Placer and the mother of the Showbiz Child already know each other. Does this mean that we'll be seeing more of the BoGee loveteam? Well, even Gee-Ann failed to give a clear answer, but the 21-year old Assuptionista would rather enjoy her life now outside the house, as the new Gee-Ann, minus her Pamela doll plus her longer eyelashes. She looks forward to more opportunities that await her. Gianina (her real name) thanked everyone who supported her in PBB, finally landing in the Big Four which she herself never imagined to be possible.

Bodie (Gee-Ann's "Piolo"), on the other hand, failed to make the elite square despite a massive text campaign by his legions of supporters. This son of Tirso Cruz III became the last evictee of the season, much to many viewers's dismay, expecting Wendy to have been the one shortlisted. But everything is fine now with Bodie as it turned out, he may not be one of the Big Four, but he is the "Big One" in Gee-Ann's eyes. Having showbiz blood in him, and being once a mainstay of Ang TV in ABS-CBN when he was very young, Bodie expressed his desire in pursuing acting. The 21-year old former software developer and PBB fanatic said that he is willing to undergo training for him to excel in his chosen path. But it wasn't easy for this 6'1" cutie to escape the classic "gay" issue, to which Bodie could only remark "Whaaaat?!" Bodie, however, don't mind such rumors because for him, he knows himself and there's no reason to feel awkward about it all. Indeed, through PBB, Bodie had proven that there is more to him than being Pip's boy.

Wendy, the 3rd Big Placer, was probably the one who took most of the punches during the whole press conference. The most controversial housemate of the season answered one by one all the intrigues thrown at her, beginning with her reaction with regard to the "unfriendly" welcome she received from the people at the Araneta Coliseum. "I'm ready for anything after what happened at Araneta," the Commercial Babe from Navotas said when asked if she is not afraid of people cursing at her and throwing pens at her if she is seen in the mall. "Mambato ang walang kasalanan" as Wendy would put it. The 25-year old once Binibining Pilipinas finalist said that she had learned from her mistakes and is willing to change, not to salvage her image in showbiz, but for the people whose love never waned despite everything that was said against her. Also, Wendy assured everyone that things are now okay with her and Gee-Ann and Beatriz. The other housemates also agreed that now that PBB is over, it would be better if everyone will just move on to the next episode.

Of course, the post-Big Night press conference would not be complete without Direk Laurenti Dyogi himself. The Business Unit Head of Pinoy Big Brother dropped by to thank the press and all the fans in their support for PBB Season 2 which recently held the record of having the highest text votes turnout among all PBB seasons. The press also took the opportunity in Direk Lauren's visit to ask him the questions regarding voting leakages. Direk Lauren, however, assured that voting was tightly secured up until the voting was officially closed two gaps before the announcement of the 4th Big Placer. It may have been very easy for many people to speculate and spread a rumor that Beatriz was going to be the Big Winner prior to the announcement. Indeed, it's very easy for anyone to speculate who the possible Big Winner will be since there is only the Big Four to choose from. Nevertheless, Direk Lauren said that the results of the Big Night was indeed the reflection of the people's vote and not by beatrizpatricia.jpgsome "rigging" as some suspected.

It will be quite some time before the big yellow house opens and Kuya's voice heard once again. Until the time of the next batch of housemates, our kapamilyas can expect more of the Big Four and the other housemates in some of the shows on ABS-CBN. It was a long four months of fun, drama, love, squabbles, and rollercoaster of emotions. Pinoy Big Brother Season 2 would not have been the "most talked about" season if it were not for you, the avid viewers, who regularly watched the show and religiously participated. Hanggang sa muling pagbubukas ng bahay ni Kuya.
