WELL, well, well.. now I do understand why Manay Celia Rodriguez is indubitably complaining about the manners of these new breed of actors who ar2e not in anyway deferential to the veteran actors.

Last Friday kasi, upon the invitation of Madam Tess Villanueva of Pervil Cosmetics (maker of Pervil Magic Whitening Cream, Lotion and Soap), sumama kami sa SM Mall of Asia’s hypermart in connection with their monthly pa-raffle for their customers who would be winning a cool P1 million

kung saan isa si Ms. Pia Guanio sa mga emcees.

Sa nasabing okasyon, isa sa mga entertainers ang ABS-CBN boy na si Jake Cuenca, at si Ms. Pia ang isa sa mga hosts na nag-introduce sa kanya.

Dahil nasa harapan kami ng entablado, kitang-kita namin ang close-up smile ng Mama ni Bossing Vic habang nakatingin siya kay Cuenca na totally deadma lang ang emote at ni hindi man lang nagpasalamat sa host ng Showbiz Central ng GMA-7.

Come to think of it, sa Siyete galing itong may pagka-ponget ang arrive na dyowa ni Roxanne Guinoo, he definitely knows who Ms. Pia is.

Pero wala nga siyang sense of memory and camaraderie, it was a good thing Ms. Pia’s not the Kris Aquino type who tends to make a mountain out of a molehill.

But typical of Ms. Pia, she simply shrugged the matter off, flashed her bubbly close-up smile, thanked the PR-personified SM Mall of Asia people particularly the head of the purchasing department, Ms. Malet Cristobal, and rode calmly at the Expedition van waiting for her and went on with her hosting chore at 24 Oras with total self-possession.

Mukhang nasanay na nga sa mga intriga ang labs ni Bossing Vic Sotto. Kahit nga ang mga punang inept host daw siya ng Showbiz Central ay tinatawanan lang niya.

“I know myself well, Pete,” she stoically says, “and as long as I know the truth about myself, my limitations and my capabilities, why should I care?”

Oo nga naman.

“Darling,” Madam Tess Villanueva butts in, “Pia’s very intelligent.

“Kita n’yo naman kanina, basta na lang siya sumalang. Walang idiot board, ni kati-ting na briefing ay wala.

“But as you must have seen, she went on with her hosting chore animatedly and in full control of the situation.

“Darling, it takes intelligence to be able to do that.”

Hindi kasi palengkera si Pia tulad ng iba kaya parang nakukulangan sa kanya ang mga taong mahihilig sa intriga.
