Marimar GMA: Marian, to star in two Regal movies
After being chosen to play the lead role in the local adaptation of the hit Mexican telenovela, “Marimar,” actress Marian Rivera is touted to be the next big star in the industry.
The soap has yet to be shown in GMA but Regal Films matriarch Lily Monteverde already signed up the actress to a two-picture deal.
Marian is set to appear in two movies for the 2007 Metro Manila Film Festival. She will play one of Maricel Soriano’s adopted children in “Bahay Kubo,” and one of the four sisters in “Desperadas.”
