Marco plays Bien, the poor, humble fisherman who falls in love with rich girl Mabelle (Played by Chynna Ortaleza). Together, their love affair weaves an interesting subplot to the already complex affairs among the main protagonists.

"It’s a challenging role," explains the tall, brawny actor. "I learned that

it was originally played by (the late) Joel Alano in the movie version, which starred Sharon Cuneta and Gabby Concepcion."

"Beyond the rich girl–poor boy love story, however, there are a lot of twists and turns revolving around revenge and family," Marco adds. "I liked the way it builds up to a climatic ending."

The cast recently came back from a three–day shoot in Hongkong, where they filmed in such venues Ocean Park and the Avenue of Stars.

Marco is also part of the star–studded cast of "Fantastic Man" – GMA-7’s latest Saturday afternoon action/fantasy spectacle starring Mark Herras, Ryza Cenon, Patrick Garcia and many others.

Playing the offbeat role of an alien who eventually joins forces with the main hero, Marco finds the role a light–hearted and refreshing respite from his usual drama roles. "People might not recognized me right away, because when I come into the picture, I’ll be cloaked in a black cape – sporting some sort of a Darth Vader–ish vibe. But in time, I’m sure I’ll get to flaunt my own fancy costume as well," he says in jest.

"What’s interesting about Ivan (his character) is that his superpowers allow him to absorb other people’s power – just like a sponge," Marco adds. "It’s a good thing I eventually end up as one of the good guys."

In between tapings, Marco keeps himself in shape with regular gym workouts, and tinkers with the latest hi–tech gimzoms.

Marco is currently managed by ALV Talent Circuit.
