Explain before you complain T-shirts, soon

Joey de Leon gave his nod on the businessmen who called and asked permission to use the phrase "Explain before you complain!".

“Lahat ng gustong mag-print nung T-shirt na merong ‘explain beforeyou complain’ e hindi na kayo hihingi ng permiso sa akin," De Leon said in a phone patch interview with GMA’s Showbiz Central host Pia Guanio.

He shared in a phone patch interview with Pia Guanio at SHowbiz Central that he was swamped with calls from entrepenuers who wished to print and sell his now famous statement for Willie Revillame in their T-shirt merchandise.

“Wala na ho kayong hihilingin na legal legal na paalam pa. Pwede nyo na pong gawin," he said.

He even encouraged those who wanted to get more of his quotes to buy the Wednesday issue of Manila Bulletin where he has a weekly column.

“Ang maganda nito sa Miyerkules sa Manila Bulletin, every Wednesday, sumusulat ako. Marami pa kayong mapupulot na pwedeng gawin sa T-shirt at pinapayagan ko kahit na sino. Para sa bayan naman ‘yung ginawa ko so para sa inyo ‘yan, gawin n’yo," he said.

He asked those who will use the famous phrase for their business to donate part of their earnings to charitable institutions.

“Sana lang yung porsyento ng mapagbebentahan nyo ng T-shirt na merong ‘explain before you complain’ at kung ano pang maisip n’yo tungkol sa nangyaring issue na ito ay magbigay naman kayo sa charity o kahit saan para makatulong tayo," he said.

In the same interview, he reiterated that he still wanted an apology from Revillame with the same intensity, exposure and length as the day the latter allegedly maligned him.

“Ako’y nahila at nakaladlad sa isyung ito nang walang kalaban-laban tapos lumalabas pa na ako ang nanggamit," he said.

He added: “Kahit na sabihin nilang kalokohan ‘yun, hindi e. Alam mo pag sinabi mong noontime show, libo-libo at milyon-milyong tao (ang nanonood) buong mundo."

In an interview with other Startalk hosts Lolit Solis, Lorna Tolentino and Butch Francisco Saturday, De Leon said the conditions he set in his meeting with Movie and Television Review and Classifications Board (MTRCB) chairman Marissa Laguardia were reasonable but these were not met by Revillame.

“Ang hiniling ko talaga kumpleto, kung napanood n’yo sabi ko, gagawin niya uli yung sinabi niya kaya lang kabaligtaran. Wala nang pag-akusa at hiniling ko talaga na meron ding dalawang nakatayo dito na dalawang co-host na umiiyak. Seryoso ako nun. Kailangan ganun din, yung babae dito at dito umiiyak din habang nagso-sorry siya sa akin," he said.
