Vic Sotto on Pia Guanio: No marriage plans yet

Ace comedian Vic Sotto is more than just a boyfriend to host Pia Guanio. He is also her adviser, particularly when it comes to intrigues that go with show business.

"Being in showbiz and especially host ka ng isang showbiz talk show, I think that is expected, e," Vic rationalized Pia's situation to Showbiz Central jurors Rufa Mae Quinto and DJ Mo Twister when he sat as guest yesterday, August 5.

Vic brought up the matter in connection with all

the intrigues and criticisms that occasionally come Pia's way, being a public figure and being romantically involved with a big celebrity.

"Even before pa hindi naman siya sanay sa mga ganyang klaseng tirahan sa showbiz. But she's getting used to it. Pero noon pa lang sinasabi ko na sa kanya na I've been in this business for more than half of my life and I've gone through a lot of intrigues and tsismis and all that stuff," explained Vic before adding that he often advises Pia to take everything as it comes, then simply ignore it.

"Basta ang importante malinis ang konsensya mo at wala kang inaaping tao, wala kang inaapakang tao," he advised Pia.

Describing his lady love as a naturally happy person, Vic endearingly shared that it is easy to get Pia out of her cloud, thanks mainly to his killer touch.

"Konting himas ko lang wala na," Vic said playfully.

Any plans to walk down the aisle in the near future?

"Wala pa naman kaming napag-uusapan," said Vic bluntly.

If ever they do get married, the number of children will depend on how many Pia wants.

"It will all really depend on Pia. Kasi ako may apat na, s'ya wala pa. Mahilig s'ya sa bata pero ewan ko kung mahilig s'yang mag-alaga ng bata. So, I really wouldn't know. We talk about it once in a while pero nothing really definite about having children."

How about Vic's dream honeymoon?

"Siguro, if ever, sa Europe," Vic replied before dropping a classic Vic Sotto prank, "Europe Hotel dito sa Malate."

There is also no problem with his children if Vic finally decides to settle down for good. He shared with us how he and his children get along.

"Kasi kung ano ‘yung pakikisama ko sa kanila ganun din ‘yung nakikita kong pakikitungo nila sa akin....pagdating sa personal life or sa love life, not unless my advise is solicited, that's the only time that I would say something.

"'Yung mga love life ng mga anak ko, yung mga personal life hindi ako nakikialam kasi alam ko malalaki na sila. Hindi naman ako p'wedeng makialam kung sino ang gusto nila kung sinong hindi nila gusto.

"And by doing so parang ganun na din ang pakikitungo nila sa akin kung sino ‘yung gusto ko, kung sino yung mahal ko I'm quite sure iri-respeto rin nila at mamahalin din nila."

Pia on her part defended Vic against all the malicious intrigues that came out recently questioning Vic's dedication to their relationship.

"I just get very defensive especially when it has to do with painting Vic as a bad person or as someone who can't stay loyal or faithful," said Pia. "I find that very objectionable kasi in my experience I never had any reasons to doubt him. He has showed me nothing but all-out love and support and care."
