Toni Gonzaga says boyfriend Paul Soriano is 'an answered prayer'

Pinagtatakhan ng marami noon ang sunud-sunod na pambabasted diumano ng TV host-singer-actress Toni Gonzaga sa mga lalaking iniuugnay sa kanya: Piolo Pascual, Sam Milby at Luis Manzano.

Pinagdudahan tuloy at inakala ng iba na baka kabilang siya sa "third sex". Isang malaking palaisipan sa mga tao kung ano raw ba ang hinahanap pa ni Toni gayong kung tutuusin ay puro good catch naman ang mga nanligaw sa kanya.

But it seems Toni has her own yardstick for choosing the person she'll fall in love with.

After confirming her one-month relationship with Direk Paul Soriano sa Boy and Kris a few weeks ago, she admitted to PEP (Philippine Entertainment Portal) last July 22, while on the studio of ASAP '07, that her current squeeze is an answered prayer.

"May boyfriend na ako, si direk Paul. It's a one month relationship and sobrang saya. He's my first boyfriend, in-open ko ito sa publiko ‘coz I think my fans or people who trust me, who look up to me, deserve that honesty from me. I feel that I'm responsible for all of the actions, decisions I make. And I see to it, if I make something like a decision, it's something that I wouldn't regret, and I wouldn't lie about it," ang masayang pahayag ni Toni.

Pagpapatuloy niya, "I remembered sa mga interviews ko before sa mga movies namin ni Sam, tinanong ako if I am in love, sabi ko, ‘if I'm really in love, there's no reason...There's no point of denying it.'"

Marami ang nagtataka kung bakit sa lahat ng mga nanligaw kay Toni ay si Paul ang napili niyang maging first boyfriend. When asked what's so special about the music video direktor na hindi niya nakita sa iba, Toni chose not to answer this question.

"I can't say and I don't want to go into details on what's special or what makes him different from others, he's a private person. All I can say is, he's an answered prayer," ani Toni.

Gaya ng ibang in love, ‘di naman itinatago ni Toni na ngayon ay mas colorful and exciting ang buhay niya. Wala mang nabago, aminado ang Pinoy Big Brother main host na mas inspirado siya sa ngayon.

"Wala namang nabago, nadagdagan lang ng inspiration and meaning. There's a reason for me to smile all the time."

Sa kabilang banda, kinumpirma ni Sam sa PEP na hindi na tuloy ang pelikulang pagtatambalan nila ni Bea Alonzo sa Star Cinema, pero isang movie na pagsasamahan nila uli ni Toni ang under negotiation sa ngayon. Sa pagiging open ni Sam before tungkol feelings nito kay Toni, ‘di raw kaya pagsimulan ito ng away o selos sa bagong magkarelasyon?

"Definitely not, naiintindihan niya ang trabaho ko, same way na naiintindihan ko ang trabaho niya. ‘Di siya narrow-minded, he's very understanding, very secured of himself, and I make him sure that there's nothing to worry about our relationship," ang tinuran ng TV star na sa kasalukuyan ay namamayagpag din bilang product endorser.

Dagdag pa ni Toni: "Actually I'm very excited kasi sunud-sunod ‘yung follow-up movies namin ni Sam. Wala pang story [conference] pero nakipag-meeting na ang mommy ko sa kanila."

Nakwestiyon noon ang gender niya dahil sa "pambabasted" sa mga nanligaw sa kanya. Ang pagkakaroon ba niya ng relasyon ay proof na walang dapat pagdudahan sa kanyang gender?

"I didn't get into this relationship because may issue na tibo ako or whatever. I really got into this relationship because I want to be in this relationship, and I wanna be committed to direk Paul," pagtatapos ni Toni.
