Shaider Philippines canceled by GMA-7

It has been long speculated that Shaider will be re-created by GMA-7 to the displeasure of hardcore Filipino fans of the Japanese show. It was supposed to be led by Starstruck winner Marky Cielo, even a plot of the story was already released to the public.

But all those preparations are now changed since the Japanese owner of the Shaider franchise rights didn't allow GMA to re-create it. However GMA will take-off from a different angle because their now banking on the 'descendants' of Shaider entitled 'Pangkat Pangkalawakan'.

Marky is still in, and expect Raymart Santiago and Dennis Trillo to be in it. Dominic Zapata who directed Mulawin and Super Twins will also direct this project. Shaider is one of the most popular Japanese series dubbed in Tagalog here in the Philippines during the early eighties.
