‘ROSANNA ROCES’ IS ‘DEAD’

WE asked Rosanna Roces at the presscon for “Natutulog Ba ang Diyos,” which starts airing tonight at 6, how she is and her reply is, “Eto, gurang na.” We’re one of the first supporters who got to interview her when Seiko’s Robbie Tan introduced her in such films as “Kandungan” and “Basa.” So much water has passed under the bridge since then.

“Ang dami ko nang pinagdaanan,” she says. “I’m so happy na ang dami pa ring blessings na binibigay ni Lord sa’kin ngayon. Ako na mismo magsasabi na ‘Hindi natutulog ang Diyos.’ Before, lagi akong nagpapasalamat kung kani-kanino, pero nakakalimutan ko ang Diyos. But now, I have found true love in Him and the Rosanna Roces before is now dead. He delivered me from drugs and anything that’s bad, including suicide attempts. Dati, puro maling love ang naranasan ko, but when I found God, that’s when I learned what love and life is really all about. ”

We hope this is not just all talk, but that Osang will walk her talk. And the first thing she does is to convince her kids to go back to school so they can have a better future. A good mother’s first responsibility to her kids is to give them a good education and prepare them to have profitable careers of their own so they won’t be depending on their parents all the time.
