Pops and Martin on the warpath again
It’s sad that my bosom friend Pops Fernandez and her ex-hubby Martin Nievera are at odds with each other. It took a long time for their love to revert to friendship, but it looks like that friendship is about to crack.
Trouble began when Martin’s partner Katrina Ojeda called Robin and Ram (Pops and Martin’s kids) “monkeys.” To think that Pipay is gracious enough to store Santino’s (Katrina and Martin’s firstborn) pic on her cell phone. The incident happened years ago but Pipay learned about it only recently. Katrina may have said it in jest, but aren’t some jokes half-meant? No mom finds such “jokes” funny.
It’s always a touchy matter, dealing with the kids of your partner from a previous relationship. But Katrina must know by now that Martin cannot divorce himself from Robin and Ram. For her, the two boys are daily reminders of a chapter in Martin’s life that she wishes him to forget. That’s not doable.
If she can’t be kind, at least she should be civil—not just when Robin and Ram are around or when people are looking.
Now that Katrina is a mom, too, she should know what it’s like to shield a child from the cruel world. Funny she should call Robin and Ram monkeys! Doesn’t that make her beloved Martin “Daddy Monkey”?
