Emma Watson, Hermione Granger is today's darling of the crowd and fashion world

TEEN actress Emma Watson, best known as her alter ego Hermione Granger in the Harry Potter saga, has been signed by Kate Moss' agency Storm – with a view to landing a prestigious contract with Chanel.

The 17-year-old has travelled the globe this week with co-stars Daniel Radcliffe and Rupert Grint to attend premieres of the eagerly-awaited film Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix and has worn a different Chanel dress to every one.

"Let's be honest, I have enough money never to have to work again," Watson – who earns a reported £2 million for each Harry Potter film she makes – candidly told David Letterman during an interview in the US, for which she wore a soft-grey, pleated Chanel shift. "But I would never want that."

Signing with Chanel would be likely to earn Watson around £2 million, according to the Daily Express, but though a deal with the house would dramatically affect her already-packed schedule, the actress is adamant she'll never let work affect her education. Like supermodel Lily Cole, she is planning to apply to Cambridge University to further her studies within the next couple of years.
