JERICHO Rosales and his band, Jeans, per-formed live at Ratsky’s Malate last Saturday, July 21. The group dished out a varied repertoire, from pop-jazz to alternative rock, Jeans’ originals, to ’70s and ’80s funky and groovy hits, to present favorites.

Also in the lineup were “Get Down On It,” “Yugyugan Na,” “Manila,” VST and Company medley, “Ordinary People,” “You’re Beautiful,” “She Will Be Loved,” “Englishman in New York,” “Ngayong Gabi,” “Makita Kang Muli” (theme from “Panday”) and an ’80s medley.

The Jeans also rendered its second single, “Tuwing Nakikita Ka,” taken from its debut album, “Loose Fit,”

under EMI Records. The song has a music video which Echo himself directed. The 14-track album was launched in Malaysia and will likewise be released in Singapore, Brunei and Indonesia.

Jeans is now gathering materials for its second album that will contain classic OPM revivals. On July 29, the group will perform at Blue Wave Marquinton in Sumulong Highway, Marikina.

Aside from singing, Echo has returned to acting after a 10-month hiatus. He is now busy taping for his new soap series on ABS-CBN, “Pangarap na Bituin” where he will star with three leading ladies — Sarah Geronimo, Rica Peralejo and Maja Salvador — under the direction of Erick Salud.

The series will air in the network’s primetime block, where Jericho earlier ruled with widely followed teleseryes like “Pangako sa ‘Yo,” “Sana’y Wala Nang Wakas” and last year’s remake of the action-fantasy-drama, “Panday.”
