Pinoy Big Brother: DYOGI FIRMLY SAYS: WE HAVE NO FAVORITISM
DIRECTOR Lauren Dyogi of “Pinoy Big Brother” feels like being in the eye of the storm because of the hate mail they got after Nel got evicted last Saturday instead of Wendy. They say it’s because Wendy is his favorite.
“I have no favorites,” he stresses. “Sinabi na rin ‘yan noong Season 1 na favorite ko raw si Cass, na si Uma raw ang mananalo, but it didn’t happen. I’m not Wendy’s manager. She’s co-managed by ABS with Ambet Nabus and this early, ang dami nang producers nagsabi sa’kin na she’ll make a perfect villain. I myself was disappointed that Nel got evicted as I felt he’s one of the strongest contenders from the start. But he only got 3.75% of votes.
"I can’t comprehend it. Where are his supporters? If they hate Wendy, then they should vote to save Nel. Na-confuse yata ang iba and they voted Wendy to evict her. But you’re supposed to vote kung sino ang gusto mong i-save, hindi yung gusto mong maalis.”
Some folks are complaining why she was made to return when she was already ousted?
“The Balikbahay concept was approved by Endemol dahil ginawa na ‘yun sa ibang countries. Para itong wild card at ginawa na rin ito sa ibang reality shows, like Erik Santos in ‘Star in a Million’ na wild card din. But we’re not the one who choose. There’s a process we follow and it’s the text voters who determine who’ll stay or go. Nagtataka din ako na despite the overflowing negative feelings on Wendy, how come si Nel ang naalis?”
Would he agree that Season 2 is more controversial than the first one? “Yes, it is. And we’re glad that the show is being talked about. Even Endemol says you have to be talked about. Kung walang reaction ang tao sa housemates, that’s bad. But we’re not rigging the votes. We won’t tarnish the integrity of the show or the network as we want to have more future seasons of PBB. Anyone can check the results of the text voting. We’re having an auditing team to re-check all the results just to assure everyone we don’t tamper with them. This is on public record. The telecom companies will be the first to complain if we’d change the results.”
The amazing thing is that despite (or is it because) of the furor, the show’s rating have gotten higher. This can only mean that their hatred of Wendy are making more viewers to tune in regularly. Meantime, another housemate was evicted last night (Tuesday) and the last one will be eliminated tomorrow, Thursday night. The remaining four housemates will then be presented at a glittering finale to determine who will be the big winner on Saturday night at the Araneta Coliseum. We ask hosts Toni Gonzaga, Mariel Rodriguez and Bianca Gonzalez who they think will win. They won’t mention any name but they say that they’d prefer that the winner this time be a man since the past winners of their reality shows are all women: Nene Tamayo of PBB 1, Keanna Reeves of PBB Celebrity Edition, Kim Chiu of Teen Edition and Yeng Constantino of Pinoy Dream Academy. We ask a lot of people and their first choice is Mickey, followed by Bodie. Let’s see if they’re right.
