OPPORTUNITY FOR YOUNGER STARS

SOME of the biggest hits of Viva Films are being produced as Sine Nobela on television. Most of them are Sharon Cuneta starrers like “Pati Ba Pintig ng Puso” and “Bituing Walang Ningning.” The younger breed of stars today are given the opportunity to re-act once more the highly emotional scenes viewed by millions of moviegoers in the 80s.

Another Viva blockbuster movie turned TV series is “Kung Mahawi Man ang Ulap”

which was shown in l984. It starred Christopher de Leon, Hilda Koronel and Amy Austria with Laurice Guillen as director. The TV casting stars Dennis Trillo, Nadine Samonte and Iwa Moto.

Is the cast obliged to see the movie version? we asked Mac Alejandre who megs the TV version.

“Not necessarily but it would be helpful if they take time to watch it para they would have an idea on what the story is all about. More or less, they will have a grip of the role they are playing. ‘Kung Mahawi Man ang Ulap’ is one of the most beautiful screen adaptations of a komiks material and certainly one of Laurice Guillen’s well-loved work. I tell my actors they are fortunate to be given the chance to recreate the characters made popular by Boyet and Hilda. They are roles that demand total emotional involvement which Boyet and Hilda brilliantly displayed. More than the pressure I am truly inspired doing this project,” says Mac whose directorial debut was with Viva.

“ Kung Mahawi Man ang Ulap” is a gripping story about love, family, revenge and betrayal on GMA 7s Dramarama Sa Hapon.
